Thats what Amana is for. If Goodman stopped selling to everyone their prices would skyrocket.

People with this kind of install are victims of our trade. I feel really bad for them, imagine how Mike Holmes must feel?

Yah know, that was originally the way the EPA code was to be written, way back when all refrigeration techs were required to get an EPA card. But guess what? That part of the code was "indefinitely shelved", meaning ain't never going to happen, because the PHCC said too many plumbers would be cut out of the trade. So the EPA dropped the part where only EPA card carrying techs could purchase split systems. Your government at work.

The local plumbing supply near me that sells Goodman sends me their real hard cases of hackery. I love to go out on these calls, I have to make the plumber look like the good guy and blame everything on the defective product.

Just finished up a call on a R-410a system, it was connected to the original soft soldered line set. The original unit had a cryptic model number so now instead of having a 2 ton unit they have a 4 ton unit, but not to worry it doesn't work anyway.

Advised plumber to replace every part of the install with a 2 ton unit, and throw the new 4 ton in the scrap pile. Nice touch though he soft soldered the new unit to the existing piping, no dryer, but he did include a sight glass!

The supply house thought the compressor was defective because the unit kept tripping the 20 amp breaker.

    Poor Goodman

Called in on a water leak and found this mess! After clearing a major blockage from the P-Trap, Shop-Vac out 20 gallons of sludge and water from the emergency pan. I found a rusted out main pan. 13 SEER Condenser with 10 SEER Coil. I will be changing the Coil on Monday and cleaning up the Piping and duct connections. Their electrician is supposed to check on the electrical issues.
