My theroy is working out well also with my little sissy Elements. We use the big trucks to deliver the ductwork and equipment. All the other BS is done with the Elements.

I got 5k on mine so far. Our first one has 20k on it. The only problem is that we had to put super duty tires on it because of the added weight. 24 mpg.

Yep, about 10 to 12 miles to the gallon. Hook up a 18 foot trailer and you still get 10 to 12

My 97 f-150 ext cab 4x4 with the 5.4 gets 12 mpg all day long, 16 on the highway. Depends how much weight you're adding. I'm a fan of the 5.4. Good motor. We stuck a trailer behind my friends f-150 with the 300 six(bullet-proof motor), but the mileage dropped to 9-10, and couldn't maintain highway speeds without staying in 4th gear.Trailer about 2500lbs.

Those are nice trucks, there are a ton of them running around my area.

As for a Ladder rack, try These Guys ask for Arnie, he has always taken care of me in a big way when it comes to trucks and ladder racks.

BTW: I like the looks of it.
    ARPA,

I switched to Chey 3500 single rear wheel cutaways with a 12' Spartan Box. 10 MPG, the Ford E-350 standard vans with the 5.4 get about 8 or 9 mpg.

My guys love them, you can carry a considerable amount of parts, motors etc and still be extremely organized.

It has a 5.4 engine I have no idea what the mileage is but I reset the trip when I filled it up so I will post the mileage later
It did cost $42for 1/2 tank the dealer paid for when I picked it up

For me it was a no brainer because the cargo van I have was always trashed so this will force me to be a little more organized

The only thing I have to search a little for is a ladder rack that fits it

that body is also longer then it looks in that picture
i think it is 11' inside the box

there is a lever on each side that locks all the boxes on the sides i will post more pics later

i think i am going to love this truck

Get ready to fill that baby up with about $100 worth of gas, which should last about 3 days or so.
    Nice work truck though, enjoy.
