That's one of my concerns too. Seems like a great idea until real world scenarios get in the way (swelling clay and running sands in particular).

The bottom line is that the rehau system of double loops is a good one for a stable, air rotary rock drill. It is not a viable option for mud rotary, given the unstable nature of mud rotary bores and the diameter of bore needed to compensate for some pretty garden vareity issues we have doing mud rotary such as: ledges, running sands, and swelling clays to name a few. The time needed to construct and insert that into a mud rotary hole, is time the hole does not have to give.

If you want to send me your thought in a PM, that would be great. Im always curious as to others thoughts on different materials. It just seems ike a nightmare to uncoil 2 loops, clipped togethter down the hole with a grout line successfully.

I have peeled that onoin before in regard to my opinion. PM me if you want to hear me rant. I researched the job, and the specs add nauseam, and chose not to bid. That caused the owners engineer to go to " freak out mode!". It bid, but I do not know if it was awarded or not. The rough numbers showed a increase in material cost and labor of something in the neihborhood of 50% over hdpe using mud rotary.

    Did you get this job?
What was your personal opinion after further research?

This is not the helix. It is a conventional loop per se. However the loop is pexA not hdpe. They condone 2 loops in one hole, with spacers to reduce the footage and number of holes that need to be drilled, to a tune of 30% or greater reduction depending on who you talk to. My issue is with the application of this technology blurring the lines and rules between mud rotary and air rotary.

Is this different than the Rehau Helix?

I looked into the helix but when it was all said and done it seemed there were better lower cost options in my area.

    Rehau double loops

Does anyone here have any experiance installing or useing the Rehau double loop pex system? Good or bad I would like to hear it. Feel free to contact me off forum if you wish, public would be better. Also any one who has actually installed one of their loops in a mud rotary unconsolidated bore hole.
    Thanx in advance
    Eric
