Once you've passed the core section of the EPA exam, and you have proof of that...meaning that the proof can be photocopied and sent in with your exam re-take... you don't have to take it again.

RSES is a very good source for information on studying for and taking the three section of the exam you need to take. You'll need to be proctored if you're taking other than just a Type 1 certification. Find your local chapter of RSES, join, get the study materials you need, and set a time with the chapter proctor to take your exam.

Other than RSES, you can find helpful information on EPA testing at a web site that is operated by Thermal Engineering....www.epatest.com.....where you can download and read their study guide, then make arrangements through them to take the exam at a local wholesaler that is part of their network.

You can also find some information on the EPA testing by going to the web site for ESCO Institute, which is another company that has developed an EPA test. Their web site is www.escoinst.com .

I just studied the book that came when I signed up for the test. Pretty easy, even when I hadn't ever touched refrigeration before.

Just realize when you study, the test doesn't test you on how to fix equipment. The EPA doesn't really care if you are a bad tech. It tests you on how to recover and not vent refrigerant. So you better know your vacuum levels, refrigeration ban dates, etc.

Join RSES....lots of great training material. When it comes to RSES, you get what you put in. All in all, it is up to you to become a better technician.

Did you go in blind or did u have a study guide? Id do some searching on the net and try and find some practice tests. Good luck!!

You can take type 1 online, open book. If you want to take type 2 and 3 again, it has to be proctored. I don't believe you have to take core again.

Yes, you can take them again.You can go online and take practice tests and whatnot. I don't think you can take the part for 608 ceritfication online. I think it has to be administered.

Only passed the CORE part of the test... What now?

Hi I took the classes through work and only passed the core but none of the levels. What can I do now? Can I retake any of them online? What can I work on? Any advise would be great. Thanks
