Thanks for the advice. Have a question about the union........ How is UA locals?
Go commercial, it's easier to move around from there. A commercial tech could go do resi any day but not the other way around. Try to hook up with someone doing the big stuff first if you can. Most if that work will be union.
Day classes included everything. The cert is from boces.
I took day classes instead the nights. Less time and schedule conflicts.
this is very similar, mine also meets two nights a week from 6-9. Did you just finish Refrigeration and Air Conditioning 1? Was your certificate of completion sent from Boces or another organizational body?
Thanks firebird a/c.

I would suggest joining the union. They will have some more training and classes. Also a lot of knowledgeable people to learn from.
yes that looks a lot better.
I agree. Scheduled for retake in January.
I meant universal.
Thanks. What is Type four?
try to get type four and yes any apprentiship through union is considered marriage and long term career opportunity.
Thanks for the advice. I have read getting into union apprentice program is more likely for long term career. Any thoughts?
Honestly I think you just have to get lucky and have someone take a chance and hire you. I'd say take any opportunity to get your foot in the door.
I took a 3 month course at BOCES and received a certificate.
what do you mean by HVAC certification?
New to HVAC Looking for some advice....... Currently guaduated with a HVAC certification and EPA Type I and TYPE II certification. Seem tough getting in without 3+ year experience. Looking for advice....... What is the best way to get into this trade and be able to get further training to benefit me in the long run? union apprentice program or getting with a company to work alongside a journeyman? Is there more demand for residental/light commercial or commercial/industrial?
