Yep, the base you see is the plate.

I am in the process of installing a 90+ furnace that is multi-position.
It came with a thick stamped piece of sheet metal already installed in the bottom.
Most contractors try not to vent combustion gas into the conditioned space.
Mainly because it cuts off their repeat business and references.

what make of furnace is it? some come with the bottom of the cabinet open and a piece can be installed to cover the opening that may look like it was factory installed. post a pic of the inside of the blower cabinet and we'll let you know

Just the cabinet as it was manufacturered. Nothing seems to have been removed or added.

If you look in the "bottom" where the unit is sitting on the floor, what do you see?

    1. No, I don't see the floor.
    2. No, it's not elevated off the floor.

Can you see the flooring that is under the furnace when you have the bottom blower access door off? Is the furnace sitting on some type of block or spacer that elevates it off of the floor?

Should I be worried? Don't see "solid metal base" plate

I just happened to be looking over all the paperwork I received after I had a
new furnace installed and I don't see where this "solid metal base" (please see below) is installed. The furnace is sitting directly on the floor and there's nothing added on the inside bottom (in the fan area).

The furnace has the left side opened where the return vent comes in.
And the top has the conditioned air going to the supply ducts. The bottom is
    the way it came.

    Thanks!

    * From the installation instructions- Upflow Furnace: A solid metal base plate must be installed in the furnace bottom when using side return. Failure to install a base plate could cause the products of combustion to circulate into the living space and create potentially hazardous conditions including carbon monoxide poisoning or death.
