Thinking about selling the used refrigeration racks but not sure if there is a market for them out there?

Well that's not to bad ,,keeps you busy , money rolling in. It would be a Break-Down call not a regular service surely?

We here call it Full-Call for the guy that responds first & takes calls.
We then have a Back-up for when full is snowed under , we can unload some jobs to them.
Then in the warmer Months we have a Back-up-Back-up where a third guy steps up for a swing.

As for me I'm considering leaving the Refrigeration side altogether. Too many hours. Air Conditioning is much better

Late night & midnight calls are what I thrive on , I have learnt more in 4 hours in the middle of the night than I have in a whole normal working week.
This is put down to not many people will answer their phone at 2am , so you have no choice but to dig around & fix the problem yourself.
Also good for passing time while waiting for things to happen ,,, nothing better than having a sticky-beek around a store or control system.

I most likely will be diving back into rack work again but it's been over twenty years so I will be bugging on you guy's! I hope it comes slamming back again like the old days!

Question, how many of you market guys see new stores?

Or another question is how many different chains do you service?

I would tend to think a multi chain contractor would have a lot more work (new stores) than some of us who only see a few chains.
We service just under 200 stores and about 8 different chains. We have more old stores than new. We are very busy (only had 2 days off this month)

You mean the problem isn't automatically the controller?

Jeez. I've had it wrong all these years.

Maybe in a major metro you'll see more, different markets.

I have been in some new stores including stores still in their warranty period , also stores that have had major refits.

This is a good way to get to know how the market was designed & commissioned & during the break-in period is a little testing as all the components find their sweet spots you are back there fine tuning small things.

Right on and the central coast is worse, ive said for the last few years one decent midwest company could put these chumps out of business.
The quality of work done here is appalling as well as the back biting and just sickening laziness not to mention the companies treat you like chattel property.

Ive had it with these idiots, going to Dallas or somewhere where men are still men and not company or Union suck butts. Where you are treated by the work you do and not who you are related to or who you kiss up to.
This place ruined refrigeration work for me , im going back to chillers , good riddance.
