I think a guy that owned his own chiller service shop in Phoenix went to work for them, but their Engineered AC service never developed.

Pretty sure the chiller dreams popped at Hussmann a couple months ago. They dabbled under Ingersoll Rand, as they do have the means, but wasn't really clicking as Hussmann stand alone. They hired a couple knowledgeable guys in AZ but they moved on.

Haha. Someone was mentioning chiller service and Union shops in another forum. I was just about to post that Lennox NAS or Source shouldn't be anywhere near a chiller.

I agree on the quality. We had some problems with their novelty ice cream bunkers the NIM series, we figured the letters stood for novelty ice cream melter.

I-R only holds a minority stake in Hussmann now. The main Chiller guy around here for them is in Phoenix. Don't know his story though. Hussmann doesn't do Com. Ref. in NYC? Who's out there then? Hill-Phoenix?
Source has had the CenturyLink account for a few years. Lots of central offices for them on this side of the country.
I don't think anyone has anything good to say about LNAS.

I've never seeing a hill-phoenix or hussmann service truck around here. I'm not in NYC, I travel all over the western part of the state.

Chiller work around here is done mostly by union shops.
couple of months ago Lennox NAS was looking for chillers, high pressure steam and plumbing techs, seems like they were trying to break into commercial-industrial work.

Hussmann (IR) has nobody in NYS other than Trane, Source is non-existent, NAS has a bunch of quacks that dont know how to fix a leaking toilet.
Uphere a good chiller guy writes his own ticket, nobody that knows chillers remotely is going to take a job with NAS for $25 an hour.

I believe Lennox is going to get out of the service business. Service Experts is up for sale, they are keeping NAS for now but is a matter of time.
Lennox bread and butter comes from units sales and many HVAC contractors are upset about Lennox doing direct customers sales, installs and service.
