a day or so after post 6 we were on a roof in the rain & everything was wet from being on top of the unit. had my helper go get a bucket of water & we tested the waterproof integrity of the digi-cool. 2 -2 1/2 hrs later we came back to the job & pulled them out of the bucket. not a drop of water in side anywhere. i dont think ill try it again especially after batt. time because i can never get that seal to re seal on anything.
I have mainly Yellow Jacket. I have a J/B manifold with J/B hoses that I call Frankenstien because of the old manifold, new hoses, and new Yellow Jacket gauges which is my R-22 setup. Then the straight yellow jacket has 3' hoses and handles R-134a and R-507. My J/B setup let me down good the other day. We were charging a 507 system (needed the 5' hoses and already used that gauge to pull a vacuum) and had to pull an evac cause of an issue in the suction line. Apparently the new blue hose valve suppressor did something with the schrader core cause nothing went into the low side.

just save your money & in a few weeks or months doug will have the answer to your prayers. well worth the wait.

seems if everything else is done correctly the risk of significant oil migration through a flushed manifold would be deminimus. if you look around your school long enough you could probably find some r-11 to flush with.

I agree with woodsman .I too use the 4 valve Ritchie mga's with the Lo perm hoses. I do prefer to carry seperate MGA's for specific refrigerants . I have a permantly installed a " chargefaster "on each of my " small machine "sets as well . Same setup on my " large machine sets without the chargefaster .Many guys wont carry 4 sets but thats just my way .( I do spend My tool allowance on tools ).

Until I went digital, I did carry a 410 manifold simply because of the higher pressures. i have to agree 100% i have never seen cross contamination because of using the same set of gages. i have seen situations where a refg. change was made & the mineral oil was used with a refrigerant that was not compatable with the mineral & that will create a real problem..

Those who can do....
you guys can use the same gauges for whatever you want... but from any proctor or teacher i hear the same thing, always use a seperate gauge for seperate oils. i take what i learned from RSI and that is synthetic oil will not mix with a poe oil. it might not hurt the system now but in 10 years you get an acid burnout on that system? whos to blame?
DigiCool I have the 1200 and the 1250 I seen the new DigiCool manifold (the PARAGON)its GREAT it was at the AHR EXPO. I'll be getting one As soon as it comes out
