If I remember correctly, we had cca. 450 datapoints on one PXC200.D. On the same site the PXC100.D had around 250 DP's
But it is not recommended, as the controllers can crash and the download is problematic.
It depends much on the bus power supply and the memory use of the controller.

    Dear guys
i know this thread is too old , but i have a question about PXC series controllers , so i asked my question here.
in siemens datasheets about PXC controllers , it defined with these words "Automation station BACnet/IP‚ with more than 200 data points-flexible TX-I/O module"

i want to know whats is the limit of this data points ?
    thank you for your help.

I'm new in the industry and I appreciate any help you could give to me. right now I'm working with a PXC 36 for High Level Interfacing , My current project is to read power meters (Carlo Gavazzi WM 14-96) this device is ready for modbus RTU communication like PXC 36. I don't know where to start. My co-employee said that I need to create an isb. file but how am I going to do that? Another is how can I be sure that the isb. file is correct or even what I am doing is right?, I have the software APOGEE Insight V 3.13 installed in my computer., I have been working with this project for months now and today i feel down because no matter how I am eager to search for technical docs or manual I just can't get the exact thing I need.

I hope you could help me with this.

    Thanks, and God Bless

Still, don't understand the reasoning behind the coldstart...if I change these parameters on an ALC LGE, it doesn't dump its setup info...just seems weird.

If you change the IP, bacnet ID, BLN name, or system name all siemens panels coldstart. If the server is insight or desigo cc, it will reload the panel when it reconnects. If it doesnt reload, you can go the the dbfile and select restore from flash. This is assuming it was set up properly to be used on a 3rd party system. Proper set up would include saving memory to flash and setting to autorestore. If on a siemens front end, do not select autorestore, or the server will not reload it, and it can also affects trend collection

What is the deal behind a PXC coldstart? It seems that if you change the network name, ip info or bacnet info, the pxc dumps its programming and you have to load everything back in...

Are there any PXC controllers that have manual knobs like some MEC controllers? As in being able to manually modulate 0-10V output.

Yes there is a part that takes the battery cover of the PXC and adds HOA switches. I do not have a part number.

Wow desigo Is already here ? I have heard our office are starting to train our techs on it. I have worked for Siemens Building Automations for around 15 years so if anyone has some question about any I our parts maybe I can help just send me a message. I work out in the field everyday.

Are the controllers you're referring to Apogee devices? It's just I have a PXC-128u on the bench at work, and when I read this thread, thought I would give it a try, but to no avail. Mine is a PX Desigo device, replacement for Visonik.

Full functionality via Hyperterminal. Of course, you can't backup\restore databases.

Apologies, I meant hyper terminal. What functionality does it provide to you when connected to a Siemens PXC though please?

Telnet is hyper terminal via the command prompt over the Ethernet.

Is connecting to the device via TelNet, the same as using the DESIGO firmware download tool, and choosing terminal once connected? What functionality does it provide?

I guess I'll know more once I get to it through HYPERTERM.

    Thanks for the info.
Yes a license is required to be able to communicate Bacnet

    Hi,
Were you able to communicate through HMI port? Do you have the part number for the cable you are using? thanks

Is there a default user name and password for the Siemens PXC that can be entered after >Time, Message, Cancel, Hello?
