Is it all dusty? What color us the flame while you are holding the button?

[QUOTE=Purcell1;14937861]You need either a thermocouple, or power pile.

    That's a broad assumption!

You need either a thermocouple, or power pile. Depending on what's in there now. I would be letting you service guy know so he doesn't come out and then have to order it.

An hvac contractor should be able to light the pilot and do whatever needs to be done to keep it lit.

First of all, you should be able to locate pilot lighting instructions attached to the fireplace. With a standing pilot, once you've successfully ignited the pilot, you must continue to hold the knob in for 15-60 seconds before letting go. If you've held it for 60 seconds and it still drops out, shut it down and call for professional service. If you get the model and serial #, you can locate the nearest Lennox Hearth dealer for service.

    Pilor Light Won't stay On

    Hi,
So I am trying to light my fireplace for the first time of this winter, but the pilot light won't stay on.

The gas valve is in the open position, I have turned the gas knob to pilot, and pressed it down I can hear the gas. I then click the red ignitor button, the pilot light does go on but when I turn the knob to on it goes out.

With the knob in the on position, I cannot hear any gas, even though the valve is on.

The model is DT-600CMN manufactured by Superior.

    Any pointers will be appreciated.
