I posted a picture of the trane primary h/x crack a while back. It is underneath the entry of the flame where the metal is crimped. I will find the thread and bring it up to the top of the forum. The secondary h/x are just about always cracked as well.

Dealt dct410. It's a 12v lithium ion. Has a spot for a micro sd card, and takes video and pics. The screen comes off so u can show the ho without carrying the whole thing around.

I don't really understand what you are asking. Whether it is a 80 or 90 I pull the blower housing and go from underneath on an 80 or check the secondary on a 90 for cleanliness or if it is a Bryant for corrosion. Also on 90% I remove the apex of the coil and put the camera in that way.

    Is that what you meant?

We do the same, its a liability - being the last licensed technician to service the appliance it becomes our responsibility to ensure its running safely.

To be honest I used to not check "young" furnaces either. I seen a 6yr old Bryant secondary rotted last week. Now I check them all.

I would be willing to damn near bet a months pay that nearly every trane 90% trane ages 3-11 is cracked. there will be a class action lawsuit coming soon. the youngest one we have found was 13months old.
