See this kind of s@it occasionly, looks good for the supposed tech. on the invoice and bill,(replaced burnt wire and replaced fuse). Looks bad for the company,(HEADLINE- airconditioning mechanic electrocuted). Seems like overkill, but always use your meter to check from chassis to ground. Knocked across the roof once, probably save my life a few more.
Should I even ask about the yellow wire with electrical tape on it? Good think that green wire is larger than the wires on the terminals. You wouldn't want the green wire to let the smoke out first.
he coudent even get the bottom slide on connector under the screw supriszed it runs at all Originally Posted by alliedtech12887 Found this in a 3 year old 60hp supply fan frequency drive at a new account.
Hey that guy is a hero. No one else could get that fuse to stop blowin!!!
Dose guys dont no nuttin'. Dey usin a ground wire on a hot terminal. Couldof at least used a black or red wire. Geeze.
Wow i guess fuses are optional

Wire is cheaper than the $ 10 fuse!
They could have at least striped it
I usually find a piece of copper just jammed in where the fuse goes. I once found one a piece of wire in one I knew the other tech did just a few days prior and called him about it. "I didn't have any fuses," was the response. Tell it to the judge when your on trial for negligible homicide.
Those are the fuses for the control transformer primary. One fuse remains, and the TX is a single-phase load, so it's still protected against overcurrent. If the transformer primary were to go to ground though, not so much. Not as scary as bypassing the incoming line fuses, but still entertaining...
wow! Trying to keep the fire department employed?!

Fuseable link.
That's just a spare ground terminal, go ahead try it out!

No worries, they were trying to figure out what kept blowing the fuses by blowing it up.....
