    I wish I saw this thread so many years ago. I know where a abandoned ARCO boiler from that period is just rotting in a dank dark corner in a ancient basement of a building in Salt Lake. No need to haul that stuff out back then, just push it out of the way and make way for the new.

    I have one and still working, was planning to replace in the next month. If you’re still interested please let me know- arcoliner, red flash and still have original owners manual (Westchester Ny)

    That one was in either N. Lindenhurst or W. Babylon, can't remember. I'll have to check General tags from now on.

    Got a kick out of seeing the copper jacket unit. Used to work for General until April of 2010. Wonder if I ever serviced it. My service number was 535 I think.

    I'm surprised, that boiler is making you a "good customer" for an oil company. The old stuff usually works great at the expense of efficiency.

    Have seen many of these. What a superior boiler for its day. And the extended jacket to cover burner assy. sleek looking. Have never seen one leak. Not like todays castings .Applying fire brick baffle in top portion a must though. Good ole double door.

    I have this unit.The funny thing is Jc discount oil told me they refuse to service it because its to old.Your post made me feel better about my poor old burner

    Will pay cost of removal of vintage 1940's - early 1950's American Standard or American Radiator boiler. Plus will pay $500 toward cost of replacement boiler. Examples of model names include Severn, Arcoliner and Red Flash.
