I would then focus an answer on what separates me from the bunch..... you probably have the basic skills they are looking for being you passed the first round of screening and got the interview. What previous jobs have you held that are not necessarily HVAC focused? How would the company benefit from those secondary skills you have mastered? for example maybe you held a customer service job or sales job that might help you increase their sales revenue, or maybe you hold a ticket in another trade that might help benefit the company. Only advice is be honest with your skill set exaggerating might get you the job but somebody will catch on and you will lose the job and your good reputation.

Just an observation so take it for what it's worth but it's a valid point....

You are getting the interviews which many times is the hardest part to do. Why are you not closing the deal at the interviews?

I would brush up on your interview techniques, it sounds as if they may be lacking.

No offense meant, just a thought.

having a hard time getting hvac helper position :(

like everyone else.. i have been having a hard time trying to find a hvac helper position

i am a recent hvac graduate from long island, new york. i am a self motivated individual eager to get my feet wet but am having a hard time.

i have applied everywhere and been on interviews in many places. i dont know where to go anymore. my resume is posted on careerbuilder and i have tried local unions and also applied to trane. i am having a lot of trouble getting hired in despair as a last resort i have been applying to craigslist.. recently i have been hired but the job is horrible. the boss scams all his customers and treats his employees like garbage.. i am off the books and underpaid. its horrible.. worst job i ever had.

does anyone here have any suggestions or know of any hvac jobs i can apply to in the long island/nyc tri-state area? please let me know if you have any suggestions.
