Just as an FYI, my Dtek baterry died, on a whim I went into "Batteries Plus" - a chain that sells... well, batteries.

They didn't have a direct match, but they assembled a better than original spec battery in store in less than 24 hours. $30 They even transferred over the foam wrap from the old battery. I also got my H10-PM battery there.

On top of that, they said they could rebuild my Dewalt 14.4's for $50 each.

    Pretty cool.

Obviously mileage will vary with whoever runs your local store.

Please post the repair quote info. when you get it. The dtek is my favorite detector so I'm interested to know what it will cost to revive them when they break.

I have the original Dtek. I've had to replace the rechargeable batteries once and the sensor a couple of times. It's still good to go and almost 10 yrs old!

My first sniffer..wand is broke, and i think the sensor is on the fritz. It's been a good detector i believe. I mailed it to a repair center today to see how much it's gonna be to repair. If it costs too much then i'm looking hard at the new jb prowler. Or another detek select. May go the h-10pm but idk.
