I hate burns - they are the worst! Hopefully Doc gave you a scrip for some Silvadane cream (may not be the correct spelling). It speeds healing a ton and is very soothing. Lather that stuff on and loosely bandage and you're good to go.
Well it blistered up I punctured the blister and drained it. The next day I peeled off the damaged flesh. Then let nature take its course. I thought using pure oxygen would speed things up and make the skin crack open leading to more pain and problems. I think you can count on a minor flesh burn to take 14 days to heal. Now beencool, what about O2 for a hangover? Thats a new one on me? Sounds right though.

If you get a refrigerant burn, I was told to cover it with clean mineral refrigeration oil. Anyone else hear of this? Also in the olden days when we came to work hung over like a s.o.b. we used to inhale oxygen from the tank to get some relief. It worked.
Originally posted by Diceman Somehow wd40 doesn't seem like a very good idea. Cool water at first and then like James said, ride it out. Yea, like laquer thinner, really not a medical application for it. Sounds like a Sat Nite Live skit actually........ You have a burn????? Here, spray it with this flammable crap! Whoooooosh!

Cmon give the story behind the burnt fingers
Damn roy, hope it's not too bad. Keep it clean and use tons of aloe type cream to heal it faster. That sucks
You guys are some bad dogs. Here I am hurting and your minds are in the gutter. Well where the heck is she? All in fun, all in fun. Roy

Hope your ok roy. Medical oxygen is filtered to a finer micron level to remove any potential contaminants. Or so they say. Old country trick soak them in cider (inside her).
Originally posted by oroy54 I have heard that the pure oxygen that we use can speed up the healing process of burns. I asked a doctor once about his oxygen vs ours. He said it is the same except his has a sticker on it saying it is certified. I burnt my fingers pretty bad today. Roy I was told once back in the early 70's when I first started out the difference was medical oxygen was a "little" cleaner what that meant who knows but I was told that by a Doc. also.
I sprayed wd-40 on them for the moment. Seems to help. Damn the stupid stuff we do when we get in a hurry to finish.
Doesn't get much better than pure Aloe for the first day. It goes in and doesn't hold heat on it.
I seem to remember something about vitamin E helping to heal burns. Does Lucy have any cream with that?
After cold water, just let them get air and ride it out with Tylenol
