love my crock pot !! I use to make a sliced beef tenderloin (cheap cut will do) with potatoes, sliced onions with beef broth ( can works or a package of any beef gravy mix but put more water than it requires ). Cook for 3 to 6 hours on low depending on the cut of meat Serve this over rice or noodles. I make homemade noodles..Yummy

I make beef roast in the crock, along with all the normal stuff ( beef or chicken chili, soups, etc )

I take a big chunk of rib roast covered in rosemary and salt, put a bit of water in the bottom with a bit of worchester sauce lots of potatoes, carrots, onions, radish and celery and roast it on low all day long. the more fat the better it will come out.

I also make bean soup with randal's mixed beans (50 oz of beans) carrots, celery and onions, a little brown sugar, black pepper, seasoning salt and worchester and a hearty helping of turkey ham or venison cubed in, again cook it all day.

ncboston, all you can do is give it a try. Let us know what you think. Personally, I have never tried beef with sauerkraut. Has always been either pork or hot dogs.

Pork just falls apart and mixes with the kraut.

That sounds good. Will have to try it. I'm not really big on pork, I wonder if beef will work just as well.

I had a recipe for Steel Cut Oats, Apples, Raisins and Walnuts. I can't find the Crock liners and you don't want to make-it without them.

I love to do this Irish Stew.

Pea and ham soup is awsome as well, especially at this time of year. I also have a recipe for curried mushroom barley and lentil soup somewhere and that is also great for something with no meat.

Take a whole chicken and rub it down with your favorite rub. Top the chicken with sections of a peeled orange. Then with some peeled potatoes, carrots or any root veggy. Maybe some boiling onions. Make a gravy out of the juices.

That's New England cooking. Nothing to it and everyone will think you are a great chef.

i cokk anything in it. if i am not grilling i am using the slow cooker. i have 4 of them and that,s only because i just gave 1 away. i am using it today for a pork roast. it's so easy. just throw in what you want and when you get home it's waiting for you. a good simple recipe is boneless chicken breast and cream of mushroom soup. simple yet good.

Pork Loin rubbed with sage, don't add any water. Cook 8-10 hrs on low. Usually cook potatoes and another veggie for it on stove. Pork almost cuts itself. Then I pull left over pork and make bar-b-que with it.
