Seem to have the same answer for TapaTalk issues as well. Strange what an update can do to fix things.

Well, I went to Mozilla and did a manual update and it said I was up to date.

I came back here and everything is "normal" again.

Forums were closed as I had them before, and would not do, and smilies are working by clicking on them.

    Thanks

I have Windows XP SP3 on my PC at home and using Firefox 19.0.2 I don't have that problem.

OK... I'll have the Guru look at it.

I'm using FireFox as well and have no issues at all. Sort of weird.

I just tried the only arrow I see in the blue section and it takes me back to the top of the page.

It does not collapse the forum as I thought and is stated.

As for smilies, I tried and still nothing in the advanced. I know I had this issue before and reloading the page sometimes made a difference, but not anymore. Guess I will just use their code in the future. The disable box is not checked either.

    Thanks

    Re: Smilies

Perhaps it's because I always use the advanced editor I don't have any problems with the Smilies.

In the advanced mode, just click on the [more] link below those tiny smilies in the right sidebar and you'll get this page, which displays all of the available Smilies, along with their shortcut codes.

I like to use the shortcuts for those I use most often, like : ; which is .

    On the smilies...

I've given up on "click-adding" smilies to my posts for quite some time.

The way that I add them is by typing in the codes.

Use a colon, the code then another colon.

: whistle : (remove spaces) becomes

    : gah : becomes

    :: DD : becomes

All of them have a little "code" to encode them in your post and, when you click "MORE" under the smilies bar, the code is listed under the individual smilie...

The arrow on the blue separator is still there. It changed when we went from VBB 3 to 4. Ice is correct. Just click the arrow and you can minimize a forum.

The smilies have gotten smaller and harder to click on. It's been this way for awhile. You must be in advanced posting to use them unless you know the short cuts to add a smiley to your post. We will be working on fixing the tiny smilies very soon. Has something to do with the right column sizing.

There is also a click box at the bottom of each post box where you can disable smiles in text. Not sure if your personal preferences is to disable or not. May want to check.

To collapse a major forum, at the right hand end of the blue forum title bar, click on the white box with an up-arrow.

I haven't experienced any smilies problems, so I'll let Dad handle that question.

    smiles and section question

I noticed since the last update that, and this has been an issue for me in the past, that I cannot add any of the "smilies" to my posts.

Also, I used to be able to shrink/minimize a section I was not interested in, Electrical for example, by clicking on something in that sections header bar. That is no longer an option, there is only an arrow that takes me back to the top.

All updates have been applied and no changes to anything else on my computer. I am on Firefox and XP if that makes a difference.
