    Ha! that was 1/4 full of floor dry, old oil filters and rain water from an oil line rupture the previous summer. The apprentice had quite a day removing all the trash. Not a very well kept piece of equipment.

    I was on top of the condensor removing the condensor fan that had broken the bracket and fallen into the condensor. Me, my apprentice, our tools and or vans got a good oil bath.

    wow. at first sight i thought that was one of those copper flexable pipes you would use on water heater lines. good thing you weren't around when that thing went off

    Factory job, Federal Pacific condensor, Carlyle compressor. Very old unit, maybe 18-20 years?

    Found this just 10 days after a repair on a 5' section 4 1/8" suction line going through the ceiling. It's an R-22 system. 2nd picture is the wall facing the unit. Needed 3 gallons of oil as well. Third and fourth pictures are the "original" problem...condensor making noise...mmmm...where's the missing fan? Oh, here it is, in the condensor coil...still running!
