Well it's me again. I called Beverage air, and told them that I had repaired a sealed system leak, and related the pressures I was reading to him after I had charged to the name plate rating. He agreed with you that most likely the cap tube was partially restriced. After talking with him a bit, I question how much capacity a filter dryer had, a sprolan c-052-s, he said he didn't know the capacity of it. I told him that It was running about 4 lbs low side and 90 on the high. I also told him that after adding about 5 ounces more of freon that the pressures pretty well matched what he quoted me. He stated that if I was getting those kind of pressures, that it sounded like the system was ok and to go ahead and run it. Well to make a long story short, I checked on the sporlan dryer and found that it alone held 4.9 ounces of freon. I had replaced a bullet style dryer with the one above and therefore was short 4.9 ounces. I think there is a reason why I use the name oldfart, Getting old is not all bad, as I can't remember what I forgot.

I don't see the model number you stated, but they don't appear to have charge information listed in there anyway.

I suggest you call Beverage Air Tech Services at 1-800-684-1199. They will verify the data plate charge and if you explain your problem I'm fairly certain you will receive a response similar to mine.

I installed a high side valve, with the stated charge of 134, I am showing 3lbs low side, 90 pounds high side. The box temp was 44 and ambient was about 68. I added about 5 more ounces of freon, now low side about 16, high side about 125. It still seems like it's a little short on freon. Is there any place on the web that I can go to find if 9.5 ounces is the proper charge?

Beverage Air pt93 proper freon charge

I just repaired a leaking Beverage Air salad station, and recharged with the proper? 9.5 oz of 134 freon as per the label, but suction pressure is only around 4 pounds, seems like it should be around 23. Does anyone know if the label is incorrect? This is a large unit 93" total length with three doors. I have since added about 5 more ounces, and seems to be working better.
