I don't know if it was a state law in TX or if it was fed but if you go to buy a drink and ask for coke, they better bring you coke or tell you ahead of time, "No coke. Pepsi" or vice-versa.

In Jersey, I've only heard it called Soda. If you ask for a Coke, you get Coca Cola... (Me, personally, I prefer Mountain Dew )
Couple of pops after work means beers.

I typically say Coke.... even though Pepsi is by far my favorite (diet vanilla pepsi to be exact lol). My g/f says pop, and so do most of the people I know.
It's neither Pop, Soda, nor Coke,....it's PEPSI!
