Reminds me of the five surgeons...........

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the Best
    patients to operate on.
The first surgeon, from New York , says, 'I like to see accountants
on my operating table because when you open them up, everything
    inside is numbered.'

The second, from Chicago , responds, 'Yeah, but you should try
electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.'

The third surgeon, from Dallas , says, 'No, I really think librarians
are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order.'

The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: 'You know, I like
construction workers...Those guys always understand when you have
    a few parts left over.'

But the fifth surgeon, from Washington , DC shut them all up when
he observed: 'You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on.
There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine..
Plus, the head and the arse are interchangeable.'

    Its all about votes

A long time ago, in an America far far away, a politician stepped up and said, "I'm from the government, and I am here to help". What he was really saying is, can I buy your vote. I'll fix you flooded home, I'll pay you not to farm your land. You can't do this alone, you need the US Government to take care of you. Thanks but no thanks, said the American, my Church and friends will help us, but thanks just the same. Oh no, we can't allow that, says the politician, there are rules and regulations that forbid that kind of ridiculousness....... It never was, and never should be the governments role to replace deeds of a Christian nation and common sense. The responsibility of government is life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Government protects your life and liberties unless your liberties degrade our nation. If the government steps beyond these rights, it should only be for one thing, and one thing only. To supply everyone who wants it, those blocks of delicious cheddar cheese, That stuff is so good.

NEVER trust a polecat (politician)... regardless of party, platform, affiliation, background, etc. They did not get where they were/are being honest.

BTW: the term polecat is one my grandfather used. The idea is; a politician is someone who cares only what the polls say... they have NO morals or beliefs... beyond what will advance their career. As such... they are cats (cats are not loyal like dogs) who hang out at the polls (measure of opinion today... not particularly what is right or wrong).

Now imagine what life would be like if the counter guys at the local supply house, or your outside rep for your brand of equipment, had literally NO morals... and was totally driven by $$$ (as if this is anything new). Yeah, now give that person the power to make laws you have to follow... while they are exempt. Now you know what a polecat is.
    Well said GA-HVAC-Tech.

Yeah... anyone ever wonder why the govt paid each family of someone who died in 911... something between a couple hundred $Thousand and $Millions? Now that is a couple of hundred $Thousand or more to EACH of almost 3000 families. Yet a member of the armed forces who is killed defending his/her country does not even get enough to pay for a funeral.

IMO we need to answer those two questions... before we should trust the govt again.

Nope never stated that at any point in what you quoted.

No I don't...at least not without demanding a reach around or kiss on the neck...

The "rape" analogy is a good one though. I think that most working Americans who are unwittingly supporting the increasing number of Americans who are becoming government dependent are tired of being raped, and there are still many working Americans who naively still believe that more government is a good thing, not realizing yet how they are being duped into literally having to pay for all of those wonderful government programs.

Maybe when some of the kind hearted liberal Americans who do work and pay taxes see less of their money going to them and more going to government this year, just maybe they will wake up and realize that when they vote for "government" to be benevolent, they are really voting for more of their hard earned money to be taken away from them and reallocated to others, while providing government agencies with even more power to more easily take more money from us and control our social lives even more.

Before the deals made to prevent the mythical "fiscal cliff", I had estimated that about $5,000 more would be taken from my wife and I in taxes this coming year. Thanks to the efforts, albeit still limited and pathetic, of more conservative acting Congress persons, I have reestimated that about $2,000 additional will be confiscated from my household income. This is of course, before the White House comes back in a month or two with another round of fiscal cliff scare tactics, which Obama has already promised will be done. Obama also made it clear that he has no intentions of dealing with Congress on what he (Obama) intends to do as far as raising taxes, reducing tax breaks and in general confiscating more money from Americans who work.

So don't think for one second that any of us who already realize that we are being royally screwed, with Obama being the self dedicated royalty, are going to just bend over and take it. No matter how much some liberals may like what government is doing to us, eventually it will become too much to bear.

well the flood insurance program is a govt program, if you buy a house in a flood plain what do you expect? you are high risk and premiums should be adjusted accordingly. as far as what they call entitlements social security and medicare are mine they come out of my check and i should be allowed to draw them out when i want but becuase the govt sets the rules on their ponzi schemes I may never see it. it should be mandatory to put them into investment accounts with your name on them so that it can only be used by you or your survivors should you pass before using them, and by the way the chinese probably laugh their butts off every year when the US sends them millions of dollars in aid monies .not payment on loans but aid monies

LOL! As we all are. Sometimes it seems like we have some sort of authority, but we are all pretty much in the same catagory as screwed over citizens. You are correct, it is just a discussion.

This is the thing, just like everything else, the working middle class family that try to live right and by the book will always be the ones getting screwed over. Those that live off entitlements and contribute absolutely nothing to anything will always have it made.
