Yes, the link is in the network. Just like a link in Lonwatcher or Lonmaker. After you link the device to its self or device to device, bind turn off the jace and take it away if you want, it will still keep working.

Any proxy linked points would be gone. for example let's say you link OSA from one controller to another but do it from proxy points under the point folder to proxy points under another devices point folder, those are in the Jace and go where the Jace goes. But if you link device with OSA direct to other device, that will stay. Like sysint said hinted to, links need to be done with thought and correctly for the desired outcome.

Well, the protocol is ISO 14908. If they are using it they need to make reasonable attempts to use it correctly.

I thought as much.

But someone posed me the question today and I said that I was pretty sure that if the Jace failed then the system should operate as pretty much as normal.

I then said I would double check though just to make sure. And sure enough I couldnt find a definitive answer.

LON is a peer to peer network.

Are you familiar with LNS LON? (NL220, lonmaker, Circon NI, Lonwatcher, etc..)
Do you walk away from the site with your software after you are done?
