Hula-popper is my summer lure. I have caught my biggest bass on a hula-popper that was handed down for years. I have put a few new tails on it. But when they are hitting they don't even care about the tail.

I've caught more on the 10" berkley power worm than anything else. Always rig Texas rig and almost any color this time of year.

Am just getting back into fishing, myself.

If I remember correctly, a Heddon Tiny Torpedo dropped near cover, let to sit until the ripples fade then retrieved erratically worked some magic on smallmouth.

Of course, I caught just about as many with a minnow under a bobber and that leaves your hands free for beer and to keep the kid's hooks baited.

    A Technical question ~~~~about BASS

Whats your favorite Bass lure. How do you rig it. Under what conditions do you use it.

I like to use surface lures, Jitterbug, CrazyCrawler, and Hula-popper in very still water at dusk.

With a Drew Estates Java or Kuba-Kuba cigar and a pitcher of Cap't Morgan and Coke.

This combination tends to work fairly well....well at least the cigar and alcohol part
