i plan on keeping it in separate pieces. Plus im a young lad that needs to expend more energy! I'm really only using it for 8ft A-Frame and larger. I only use fiberglass, aluminum make me too nervous.

X2 for me. I have used these ladders and they are great in open spaces but when you have to move around in a crowded room they are to heavy and cumbersome. Not to mention the price.

That is an awesome ladder Thanks for sharing. My boss has The first jaw's ladder it's like 15yr old and still working good SO Heavy. I am Very intrested in getting one of these ladders aswell. I love the Black ones but the Original Ones look the same just a diffrent finish and are $60 cheaper.

I think the problem being referred to isn't "flaking".....but just the shinny top coat coming off, and having tiny fiberglass fibers rub off continuously. or am i wrong??

mine does the same thing, I've always figured it's just a crappy UV sealer, as the ladder rides outside in the sun all the time.

i'd coat it with some resin

if its flaking get a new one sounds unsafe to me . OSHA also wants to see the labels or they will comdem them .

I used the spray laquer when they were new - it did not seem to help. They look great now.

i have heard of people spraying on a clear uv protectant.

You can also try to brush resin on.

I bought a few ladders recently that faded unusually quickly (a brand I had not heard of before). I think werner recommended that 'painters touch' spray paint from rustoleum. I did a half ass 1st coat on one of my ladders out of despairation and WOW! I am sold. It looks almost new again.

If it is new then it should not be flaking yet. Has it ever been dropped? That can cause cracks and the Fiberglass will flake where it is damaged.

fiberglass ladder

how do you guys prevent those fiberglass ladder from deteriorating and unleash many many itchy day?

and if it has deterriorates, can you just spray paint it?
