I like it. Think I'll take out a full page ad next weekend.
50% of Beenies posts have to do with [delete]hating Carrier .
Well there is good reason for that, young Mr. Diceman. They really pi$$ed me off.

I had a wasp experience thurs. Went on a roof to replace ht pump and saw them coming out the open knockout on an abandoned disconnect- right beside the access for the new unit.
The wasp spray was almost empty so fired up the turbo torch. Sprayed with right hand and nailed a wasp with torch in left as came out hole, then stuck the torch in hole and smoked the box. No more wasps.

Actually , it' an old trick taught to me by an old Native American Indian friend. See, when he was young and the white man moved into his neighborhood so did red light houses. So, as a young man he wanted to experience this red light house and its services. The head lady told him he was too young and needed experience first before he could take on one of her women. So she told him to go out back and use the tree that had a knot in it. So he did.

Bout a month later he comes back and the head lady asked if he had praticed on the tree with the knot. Saying yes she excorts him upstairs to Molly's room. So my Indian friend tells Molly to hang out the window which Molly did cause she is use to weird guys doing weird things.

But my Indian friend waits and watches then runs across the room, kicks her in the butt and runs back and waits and watches. He does this a couple of times and Molly can't take it anymore.

So Molly yells at him and wants to know what he is doing. He say "Me check for bees."

So it is the "Me check for bees" technique. Now don't you guys get any ideas about the 1/2 inch electrical knock outs on these units.

50% of Beenies posts have to do with either hating Carrier or that Dale Carnegie course he took about 73 years ago.

WARNING! If you approach an outdoor disconnect with the door not completely shut, don't stick your hand inside without looking first! These cracked doors are invitations for nesting. Can't tell you how many times I've seen this. Also, uncovered knockouts are another good entry point. However, they usually build the nests behind the cover plate out of the way.

Every time I do away with the hive, they come back and declare war on me.

I keep a can of wasp killer in the truck, but it's hard to concentrate and fight them off at the same time

Here was a surprise for me today. Luckily the HO had sprayed wasp killer in through the hole where they were going in/out and the 24VAC live was also going last year. Only about 10 wasps so I just shooed them away and skewered the nest out with a screwdriver. Most in the unit were dead from last year. Would've been a different story if the full nest was active!!!!!

afterwards I put insulation tape around the stat wire to plug the hole. In the first pic you can see the wasps congregating around the hole wondering what the heck just happened.
