I'm 43 years old and have been working in the trades since I was 18 and I have to say that Fieldpiece has the best customer service I have ever encountered. If anyone here has an issue with one the their tools now or in the future, call them. I guaranty they will resolve the problem.

since you brought it up, my SMAN3 broke, (the brass connector off the manifold, after I dropped it from a 16' suicide ladder , 1st thing I did when I got down was to turn them on and make sure they still operate------------------now just to replace that cheesy brass fitting

I emailed Travis Ault from Fieldpiece on Saturday afternoon and quickly got a response by email the same day. He called me Monday morning and shipped a new sman3 to me 2nd day air at no charge. Just got it delivered today. He even included a return shipping label in the box so all I have to do is put my defective unit on the same box and drop it off at a ups store. Excellent service if you ask me.

    I'm on my second set
This one leaks by too. Really irritating to know you can't trust them.
However (if they didn't leak) they would definitely be my go to guages!

My sman3 just started leaking on the low side between the manifold body and the display. Only had the a couple months with less than daily use.

I didn't really see a huge difference between the 3's an 4's so I just bought the sman3's. no problems so far. I'm a happy camper lol

Bosses SMAN started leaking by from the hi side so FP sent him a new one 2nd day air. Now this one was is leaking by too. To say the boss was pissed is an understatement. He called FP and pretty much was not taken very seriously by the tech. No solution was was offered by the the tech.

Boss called the next day loaded for bear. Got another tech who explained that the new SAMN 4s have a different valve gasket that needs to be torqued down tighter than one would usually consider to make a leak tight seal.

Uncle is admittedly a tough customer but the treatment he received
from FPs first tech was un-deserved. Our company has been a strong supporter of FP even when the our instruments did no perform as advertised.

We will continue to support FP but I feel this incident needed airing.

Also we are on FP email list. A service bulletin should have been issued on the new gaskets in the SMAN 4. Boss was also informed they received a small number of SMAN 4s back for this reason.

Just thought this was important enough to inform others who might have had the same problem.
    Yep
    Same here!
They sent me new valves. When I pulled the old ones, I didn't see anything wrong with them. I reassembled with nylog.
I found the problem is that you have to crank the crap out of them to stop the leak-by.

If you mean it would have been nice to have the option of mounting the SMAN to a diff manifold, it probably crossed Uncles mine.

If i confused your meaning I apologize.
