that is when it slowly starts!!

just a small ain in your shoilder sometimes when ou hold something up for a while?

then a couple years later when you put your arm under your pillow at night!

then your hands start to hurt a little bit every now and then or it is a little harder to open a jar!

just a tiny little pain here or there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was a bit more abusive. By my late thirties I had busted myself up between work, skiing and sky diving enough that my really bad eating habits and being on doggy downers for my hyper metabolism finally resulted in my first heart attack at 48. I can't really say I regret any of it though.

Nope. That's closer to being a metalurgist.

The rare breed part I agree with... After careful consideration, this was the better icon to post...

I quit college about half way through and went into physical work. It felt really good to be outside and get the exercise. Now I am closing in on 60 and wish I had a less physically stressful job.

It starts to wear on you in your mid to late 40's, and then somewhere in the early to mid 50's the body just does not want to do it anymore. One has to make some adjustments to one's lifestyle... just the way it is.

I thought it was all bunk until I got here... now I wish I had chosen a less strenuous lifestyle.

My Dad, who is 85, does not have the aches/pains I do; I am convinced it is because he did not do as much physical labor as I did. He was careful about proper exercise, sleep, and relatively careful about diet... well most of the time.

Working hard all one's life WILL take a tole on one's body. Just the way it is...

I've been in this thing for 16 years and I feel as strong as ever because I take my vitamins and make sure I eat right.

Going to be crawling around on concrete all next week(with knee-pads of course), and it won't hurt me one bit.

Take care of yourself and you don't need those artificial drugs.
Hey, I paid my dues with almost 40 years dedicated to this biz and a plus thirty year member and past president of my RSES Chapter.

These pains and injuries we squawk about are badges of honor we have a right to bare proudly.

I don't care how good you take care of your self , if you are a one man shop this business will extract it's pound of flesh. You get cut, fall, overstress your body lifting heavy equipment.

I'm pushin' sixty Seaton and I doubt you would have an easy time of out working any of us.

There was a bear of a man who has my undying respect who would make most guys half his age cry uncle. He is an ornery old Texan named Aircooled.

If you are reading this Aircooled you are in our prays guy!

Time caught up to Bret Favre, Joe Montanna and Superteck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    as it will Seaton!

Yeah, well Seaton,,,I'd been doing HVAC and Refer for 14 years the day you were born,,,tell me in another 20 years how great you feel. I eat well and take my vitamins,,get enough sleep for me altho it isn't 8 hours. I'm about 15 lbs. overweight by my standards, but the doc says I'm OK, for a guy turning 66 in a month. Your body will not give you any problems until around age 47, and then it'll start letting you know what all the crawling and ladder work, and kneeling has done to you. I really think the worst thing a guy could do would be to quit doing the physical part, and just vegetate. As long as you remain active, you may hurt, but you also remain flexible. I stopped carrying the tools for about 6 months, and was stuck behind a desk. When I went back in the truck, I was sore for about three weeks. Now I'm sore every day. LOL

Oh, I still can and do but not near as much. I take care of my rental properties, my son's and daughter's homes, a friend's place and my own home doing every type of work necessary since I'm a bit less expensive than most contractors that are worth anything.
Plus, I get to repair all the oops that our students do from time to time.
Got an ice maker some of them goofed up today. They get to try again tomorrow but, if they don't, I get to fix it.

    And I will.
