Hi Martin, Thanks for the tool! I'm trying to use it with an AEM2100. We are having problems with one of our buildings dropping out on Insight and found that it was the AEM failing. We bought another one but I can't seem to connect to it. I have a USB to serial (9 pin) and a male converter plugged into the AEM. My computer registers the cable but I can't communicate to the AEM (also tried hyperterminal and putty). I been reading you need a 12 pin cable on here but modern computers dont have these ports anymore. Is that cable really necessary? If so can I build my own with a 9 pin? I been looking online for a pin put diagram but, there is so much info I'm not sure what one to choose.
the download link is from my onedrive. it seems to work fine with google chrome...anyway let me know if you have problems downloading it Martin

I resorted to using Hyperterminal - not too hard, the netmask is the only thing that isn't obvious. Hi if they changed something in a newer version of the aem firmware, that will cause these errors. If you want me to look at it, just send me your c:\AEMConfig.log file after trying to download the aem2100 thanks
Download link to AEM Config tool 3.0.0.10 for all windows versions Hi All here a link to download the new version http://1drv.ms/1Q8kmP6 version is 3.0.0.10 it works with all versions of windows including windows 10. You MUST uninstall previous versions of AEM config tool BEFORE installing that one. you may want to backup your AEMtool.mdb file before uninstalling the previous version of the tool and then copy it back to the installation folder after installing 3.0.0.10 also, you must make sure you have .net framework 4.0 Full installed ont the PC let me know if you have problems enjoy Martin

Martin, any chance you could recompile the AEM Configuration Tool under Windows 7. I have been working on a new version to support Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. No sense in reinventing the wheel if its not needed.

Help!! AEM Configuration tool 3.0
No you cannot upload existing configuration of an AEM. But in that version all your AEM settings of all your jobs are stored in a database and you can even export AEM's config from your database and send that file to another user for him to import it into his own AEM Configuration tool database.
Thanks for putting this up, I downloaded the file and it looks like a pretty slick interface for setting up AEM's. Is there a way to upload the configuration that's already in an existing one to see what's in there by using this?

Hi i am the one that wrote the AEM Configuration Tool software when i was working for Siemens! If you want a version that works also with the AEM 2100,, you cannot have a better contact my friend ! lol
Figured this one out by trial and error. I had the baud rates set right but the Modem (Enable/Disable) parameter in the field panel needs to be set to "disabled" when connected to an AEM. Seems counter-intuitive but it worked!
I figured out the default password....it is "system" for future reference. Now for the rest of my problem... What I've got is a remote BLN that's been functioning okay for at least a few years now up until one of our tech's accidentally changed the MMI/Modem baud rate on the MEC field panel its connected thru. I am able to launch an MMI session over telnet and found that the MMI/Modem ports were both at 9600 so I changed them to 38400 which is what channel 1 on the AEM was set to. (I was also able to telnet into the AEM setup menu) I attached a screen shot which shows the configuration in each, but for some reason I'm still not connecting with Insight. Sort of a strange problem I know, but just though I'd check and see if anything jumped out as being incorrect.
