If your suction line is getting warm/hot immediately after stopping, you have bad valves. Need a new compressor.

WAS freezing cheese. Inefficient compressor could be running extended periods of time causing the freezing. I could have had one too many whiskeys tonite also

I have a lot of old McCall pizza retarders and older pizza make tables using a Ranco low pressure switch for temp control. I've gotten good at setting them up and they work great. Mostly R414B, R409A or R134. The newer R404 units use the Ranco ETC 111-000. I set the Cut IN at about 36F--38F with a 18F dif works well in my equipment. Maybe a little on the cold side but I'd rather have a cold complaint rather than an above 40F call.

I would definately agree. A cold control would work a lot better.

If original call was frozen product adjusting pressure switch, if used as temp control, down would make that problem worse. Lower pressure setting would equal lower temp. I'm with the other guys. I doubt the pressure switch is intended to control temp. Better take a look at wiring diagram and see what supposed to be going on and go from there.

I don't remember pressure switches on the r22 traulsens or the newer ones. Did the original control go bad, and someone added the pressure switch after the fact?

ditto on what 2 sac said. Look for the wiring diagram. I rarely see a factory box that controls temp with a pressure switch. I have used pressure switches to control the temp in the past and once you set it up you never have issues unless there is a leak.

What did you set the control at and why? You're 100% sure temp is controlled by pressure and not a thermostat?
