Refrigeration companies are always hiring, but if you have been ALL over the place that will tell them that A your horrible or B you have issues. I can't stand when we hire someone that has been to 5 jobs in one year, to me that's saying something about the individual.

Refer is the way to go i will b looking for a good refer man soon.

I heard Hill Phoenix in LA is looking for guys!

I just spoke to someone with Hillphoenix (this is the way they currently style their name) this Wed. He said the only service ops they have is Phoenix and L.A. I asked about the N.J. operation, he said it's done. I asked about the nearly 30 Tyler Service branches, he said they never became Hillphoenix Service branches and they're shut down. Can anyone working for Hillphoenix verify any of this? It seems Hussmann's biggest competitor would be inclined to service what they sell.

never gone a day without at least one hourly paying job. had more than one a few times. side work and mom and pop stores/rest/caterers ect. most places will hire anybody sober that can read and write. show up on time most days and your in line for a raise

No, not union. They did a couple of Safeways when I worked there, but not many.

Alliance Mech. used to do some in Phx. Now it is Hussman or Source I believe.

When you're standing in a cage on a forklift and the fans from all the other evaporators are still running while you're working on the bad one during the summer on the day after you took you took your bibs out to wash them but neglected to put them back in the van because, well it's summertime and who wears bibs in the summertime?

That was the only reefer experience I've had, had to change a fan blade in a freezer, does that suck. I kept thinking I was going to get locked in like in the movies!

Patience is key in doing the work. Devising a troubleshooting system comes with time. No real substitute though for standing in front of a machine that's full of product that's dead in the water and the owner saying "How much longer? Am I going to lose all of my product?"
