    its manditory to inspect ht ex on ALL service calls , ive seen em bust in 2 yrs!

    what made you inspect the heat exchanger on the service call?
    was the gas pressure too high or the delta t too high?
    why did it crack?

    It is an old lennox helical heat exchanger, I see quite a few of those in my area. most(if not all) are in that condition.

    It looks like a HX from a Lennox packaged unit. If so the HX does not run under positive pressure.
