Turns out I have sod webworms. I didnr know these moths I noticed were so harmful.

They gave me a powder pesticide thats name sounded like acetylene.

I just treated the yard. Glad all the pros were busy when I called.

Well glad as long as I didn't just murder the yard.

I agree with Iceman, the grubs eat the roots of the grass so when you have heat in the summer the grass has no root system left and dies. The clovers are probably growing because they are a weed and will grown anywhere. Good luck

You may want to take soil samples. They will tell you how much lime and which types of Fertilizer to apply. Contact your local Cooperative Extension Office. http://solutionsforyourlife.ufl.edu/map/index.html They can help you with any question you may have. Good luck!!!

You never answer what kinda grass, being you live in Fla. I am guessing Burmuda or St Aug. My local landscape supply has documents at the counter for each grass with reccomended fertilizer, weed killer etc as well as when to apply. this year I followed it and my Burmuda did a 100% turnaround. My biggest issue was crab grass, it took over and shadeded out my grass.

Sounds like dollar weed which invades lawns and thrives in overwatered soil. Scott's has a granular spread for that, google it.

Condenser coil cleaner kills grass, trees, and pretty much anything green.

That's all I got for ya.

walk behind drop spreader with a couple of bags of top soil and mulch that lawn if your not doing it already...water midweek in the evennings not the sun of the day.if you mulch the neutriants from the cuttings will tighten up the grass and the top soil will juice up the roots..drop the soil lite rake in and then mow it.

SBK do you have a dog? If not look under the grass for grubs. If I get it right I'm putting lawn care troubleshooting on my resume. I believe the clovers are there because they are storing excess nitrogen not used by dead grass or excess pet urine. If there was a condenser out there I would be more apt to suggest HVAC Tech urine haha

any lawn advice for a tech?

Have noticed my lawn dying in spots and now more prevelent.

I have now noticed little clovers seem to be thriving wherever the grass is dying.

We have had a lot of rain with below average temps here.
