    I still love the meters but Fieldpiece forced me to leave a message which they have not returned. But Ive been a bit busy the last few days so...

    Ill give em the benefit of the doubt and call em tomorrow. Id like to get em repaired rather than buy new.

    Yes, I love the 76.

    76 does caps but not volts
    17 does volts but not caps

    I think I need to send em in to fieldpiece.

    If the 76 is the one which will not do capacitance (MFD's), there is a fuse in the back of it (have to take the back cover off with a screwdriver). Replace the fuse (special part... some supply houses have it)... and the 76 will do MFD's again. Learned this with mine years ago.

    BTW: IMO the 76 and 77 are the best meters I have ever owned/used. All I ever do is replace the 9V battery once a year... and they work great!

    Ive got two meters here a 76 and a 17. One now wont do VAC and one wont do capacitance. I guess send em back to the factory might be a bit less than somewhere local.

    They have been good meters. Had em about 6 years now.
