supertek , my stepson had a book on learning home inspection and it was about the size of a phone book.....you really have to learn a whole other profession....i think getting into digital controls is cool not too many service guys go in that direction , imho......Jack

Big shops rent temporary chillers and generators and do generator load tests!

I'm going to a Honeywell (just a Generac with a Honeywell logo on it) 2-day air cooled generator service class in January...anyone take one of these classes before? Whole-house generators are becoming much more popular down here due to hurricanes and it seems like a nice niche market to know about. Any HVAC guys doing maintenance/service/sales on these with advice?

mdaturbines is a good website to learn about generator repairs. You can not learn the work completely. But you can take help on many topics about generators.

generac has classes in eagle wisconsin also some times they have local companies give classes .standby generators are common in the virginia tidewater area due to storms knocking down the powerlines

How to learn how to repair generators

Hello, I'm new to the forum here. I've been working in the HVAC/R field now for almost a year and really love this forum. I was wondering if anyone knows a book I could learn about generator repair since it seems like a field that could be related to HVAC and I just love learning new information and piking up skills that could one day be useful. Also does anyone here know if generators are often repaired?
