Gotcha! The current clamp is design with A/C units in mind. I will definitely get this info for tools for the types of equipment you specified to our engineers. Won't be here tomorrow, but I'll get it on the list.

What types of equipment and pipes sizes?
temp clamp improvement requested I would say no more than the width of a cigarette; 3/8" give or take a hair. Another thing; sometime we need to put clamp on 1/4" and 3/8" pipe. would be nice if you can make a clamp so the sensor can touch 1/4" or 3/8" pipe. I am thinking of a spring loaded bottom pushing against the pipe, that will force the top piece (location of sensor) to come in contact with the pipe. disclosure; I am retired; don't work in the field much; however, I am training new recruit - they are the one having problem finding space to put a clamp on.

If the screws are re-installed I think you should be OK.
What is the ideal dimensions you are looking for?
Russ, I need a narrower version on them temp clamp, sometime not enough space for the clamp.

All my AC electronic instruments from Fieldpiece and Testo are in winter storage with batteries removed right at this moment. When I get a refrigeration call I take what instruments I need for the day and them put them back in warm storage. I wouldn't consider buying a tool that couldn't be used in cold weather, seeing as I work in it for 9 months of the year. My combustion analyzer goes in with me every night, if I let it get too cold the inside sweats when I take it in a warm house and causes error codes. But my Digicool hangs in the truck all winter and every time I need to use it I just turn it on, and it works every time...

Guess what, ewen my Ford Transit did not want to start up... But if I know that I dont use my electrical tool's long time, I put them warm place to storage. And remove batteries, as you said.

I have had my s mans for a week now and can't imagine life without them now. I do wish those yellow things for the temp clamps were not on there though. I have just been keeping them in a seperate pouch in my tool bag. Wondering if I can take them off.

You must be right Russ. The 557 and 570 no longer are rated to -20 C They are listed same as the 550 now at -10 C http://testousa.com/refrigeration/technical-data.html

Here Finland is one problem. Manifold's are here 24h in the van (day/night) And then when it's about -20'C weather outside, every electrical tool is freezed up. And here winter is long.. I have 7 piece's those analog gauges/manifold's (3 in van) and now I am thinking to buy digital's. Huh..

Sorry RussellHarju, but I am not yet Pro member. So I cant send to you PM's... But I'm still intrested! Edit: I will sent you email!
The SMAN4 uses the same screen so you would see the same results with the SMAN4

Hi Murre, We actually have a few Finns here at Fieldpiece so you are in good company. The coldest I've had the SMAN3 is -10 degree F which is about -17 degree C. Here's a video on it showing how it works when it's cold. The display slows up a bit but it's still readable. Fieldpiece isn't all over the place in Finnland as a few distributors are just getting on board but if you PM me i can help you get your hands on some Fieldpiece Product. http://youtu.be/h47u5X6wtsY
