Oroy54; A very long time ago I used mapp gas and you had to shut off at the tank in cold weather. If you shut off at the tip handle the mapp gas would liquify in the hose, then you would get flaming globs of liquid mapp. Sometimes coming a little to close to my naugty bits. I changed back to acetylene and still have my naughty bits.
Don't you guy's up north have problems with your acetylene coming out of the bottle? We used to use butane for heating but when it gets really cold... that's when we switched to Propane...Just like the King of the hill guy. I had a 2000# clorine cylinder leak at work because someone put a steam hose on it and melted the lead plug. What a mess.
It is kind of a secret among the bottled gas people but when your fusible plug blows you can just stick some chewed gum back in there
How bout we do a sientiffick test ..I got a cabin in wardensville WV. 202.93 mi from pittsburgh mapquest says ..drive time 4 hr 2 min. Iff I prop a b tank up in a camp fire and feed the wood to it Dice should see it go by in a few minuites. LOL. I know the coals in the bottom of the fire ring get hot enough the melt beer bottles ...someone has to show the grandkid this stuff HE HE. Gonna need someone farther up range ..anybody in ERIE Pa.

Re: Don't believe it. Originally posted by spotts Heard the same about the oxy. bottle in high school. Should I shoot a hardware store acet. bottle and find out? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Spotts burn down a building not long ago and post pictures of it here? Please don't feed the pyro Dice.

For oxygen tanks, >>>> Bring peanut oil up to 550*F and slowly lower tank into cooker being careful not to splash any hot oil on your new "I'm An Idiot" apron.
Originally posted by Diceman B stands for BIG tank, MC stands for Mighty Cheap.....see...I ain't no moron. Hey where did this guy go, everyone check the local news to see if he tried an experiment. Nothing in local papers of the San Jose area.
I vote yes, but I want pics. Cool. Make sure it is full and you are far away. You might be right, but your not crazy, are you?

Don't believe it.
Re: I heard it's quicker Originally posted by spotts just to lay the tank down and knock the top off with a sledge hammer. Do it near some sort of ignition or you loose the whole "Rocket Effect". No flame required spotty, acetylene exiting at higher pressures will ignite from the friction caused hitting the air molecules. It’s one of the most unstable substances known to man, or women.
Re: I heard it's quicker
Yep and that's where MC Hammer got his name too? You can also use your B tank for B jobs. Thats what the song Light My Fire was about.
Originally posted by Diceman Originally posted by wolfdog 212° and/or 500 PSI. Are you saying not to sterilize your b-tank by immersing it in boiling water? I think it would be higher than that. I don't know why. I did a Google search and found those figures repeatedly. Personally, I never sterolize my tanks anyway.
B-Tank - Used on "B"uses for headlights... MC-Tank - Used on "M"otor "C"ars for headlights...
fusable plugs fusable plugs. fusible plugs. This my question regarding the question. How do you spell moron?

Originally posted by spotts Originally posted by Diceman I think he should put his tank in the oven and slowly raise up the temp. He can record it in a book, when ya find the book after the explosion, whatever the last recorded temp was in there will be pretty close. \ Don't mix fuels tho. Only do this in a gas oven. Could be very dangerous in an electric. Well of course, whadda ya think he is, a moron?
