    i've got a PEH063 that holds about 840 lbs of that there R-12. looks as if your machine is just a bit smaller and would guess that the charge would be in the 650 lb range. if i can scrounge any other info i'll pass it along.

    I currently service two PEH100 machines from 1984. They have 1400# R-12 in them still. They are 350 ton, single pass ice machines. Leaving water temp22*. Been good machines, a few minor issues however they been good machines.

    I'm not a chiller guy, but see if these manuals will help you at all.

    First Attachment:
    Chilller Identification is on page 28,
    Evaporator Physical Data is on page 30.
    This manual references R134A as the refrigerent.

    Second Attachment:
    This is an old PEH operating manual from 1986 that does reference R12 as the refrigerant, but only tells you to check the name plate for unit charge.

    This probably isn't what you wanted, but maybe you can get some info out of them.

    we are in the process of performing repairs and possibly a refrigerant retrofit on this machine. I am also looking for refrigerant amount for R12. Any recommendations.
