Residential/Lt.coomm. is okay. Remember, It all works the same . Being in your 40's ask yourself is it easier to crawl under houses or climb ladders? Hinson Mech is a res/lt comm contractor. I find comm/ind more intriging and their are more controls and such. But the refrigeration theory is the same only bigger. You can and will become well-rounded through time and expierience whether its res, comm or ind. Food for thought . Take care. I live on S. Main ST.

I am more interested in reidiential light commercial I am in my 40's and and i feel that service work is where I need to be.I feel I can get more out of the residential and light commecial to become more well rounded when I do become a tech Is this the dirrection that might be a good place to start.I would like to learn about all of it before I decide my specialties.What do you think? If your graduating in Dec, go ahead and start applying. If just to get your name out there if nothing else. Do you have EPA cert? That will be a must. You need to decide what you want to do i.e. service, installation,residential or commercial. A lot of co's here slow down on hiring around the holidays but they will hire a bunch in the fall. If you would like commercial service, call Mechanical Contractors Inc. in Charlotte. They are a large comm/ind shop w/ a good training enviornment for a Jr tech. Ask for Mr Horton in the serv. dept. See if they have any serv. helper/Jr mech. positions.
Theyre aloot of HVAC co's that will hire green help w/ schooling for installation helpers. If you pick up stuff quickly, you can advance fairly rapidly. Just decide what you want to do and find the co that can help you get there. Good

I dont know much about residential cos, But as far as commercial try: Mechanical Contractors Inc, P.C. Godfrey, or Ross & Witmer. I know they hire apprentices and newbies for Jr. Mechanic positions. Also try McKenney's which is a union shop. Dont know if they are hiring right now but worth a try.
Also call C.C. dickson on Church ST in Charlotte, They usually know which top companies are hiring. Live close to you in Wingate. Union Co. doesnt have much opprotunity you'll be better off looking in Charlotte. Good Luck

in what fishing? what courses? what did you learn? what do you feel is your specialty? troubleshooting? gas furnaces , ac, refrigeration, residential, commercial, service, install,heat pumps, roof tops, split systems, congrats! gpa looking good? keep your school taught methods fresh always use them, they keep the guess work out of the picture more often! and they tie the big picture in to whats going on, and what shouldnt be!
