    On an 06E the pump end bearing head torque is 55-60 ft/lbs. and it is an aluminum casting

    I've seen the oil pump bearing head crack due to excessive torque when tightening. also seen the pump drive segment cap screws sheared off due to improper reassembly, this required a new crankshaft as the threaded remains could not be removed. Was there any excessive noise or vibration on the compressor prior to the failure?

    hi richard, sorry for delay,i ment oil'pump head'. not the discharge head.oil pump head equipped with oil regulating valve.suppose if the oil devoloping pressure increasing due to the blockage of regulating valve, it may generate hydrolic pressure and it may lead to to the damage of pump head.(this is my speculation, not sure)

    I think he is talking about the oil pump bearing " head". I think. Seen it happen once.

    carlyle 06E cracked

    dear guys

    i have a compressor carlyle06E299....yesterday we found the compressor pump head is cracked and lost all refrigerant.we are planning to dismantle.is there any specific reason.it will happen,if the oil regulating valve is not functioning.anybody have such this experience?
