Care e vision

I have 200 pieces of equipment on this system I have a few with problems

"Black boxes" are the XFM-modules which replace complex regulation arrangements.

The project files .pjt keep the application specific hardware and software of the controllers. You also need the individual passwords for each project. They don't keep the files with the characteristics, alarm textes, measuring units, textes for the XI581...

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Yes we did get copies of all the pjt files for each building that I am aware of.
I am not sure at this point what version was used to create these project files though and have been told upgrading them may or may not work entirely.
I have made several inquiries locally to get a copy of the software and have not heard back yet.
Hopefully I will hear something soon.

Stability, when you say 'black boxes' you are not referring to EagleHawk are you? :-)

Clbrown, I am from the murky side of the pond I'm afraid so you would be best advised by others here who live a bit nearer to you. I could give you a link to download the software but its slightly different here, and you need to purchase a USB dongle to make it work with any usefulness anyhow.

One bit of advice, which may be too late now unfortunately. When tendering for a new service/remedial/T&M job, I always make sure that our sales team put in the quote that the latest CARE project file will be necessary to undertake the said works. It then makes my life a little easier when we have to explain that to add a couple of sensors to an XL5000 will require a complete re-write of the controller software when there is no project file available.
Take it from me, if you have a LON project in an XL5000, then re-writing it may be a very tedious chore, and it will never work the same way as it did before.
Sometimes, if you are lucky you can find the project printouts which would be of tremendous help in that event.

Programming Honeywell Care needs a lot of experience. Meanwhile I've programmed about 460 CPU XL5000 and I'm learning with each one. Even the Honeywell professionals live on assembling black boxes and they hope that it will work.

I am new to the Honeywell CARE world. We have inherited several Excel 5000 buildings using LNS.
I am hoping someone can help with where to purchase the CARE software that will be needed and get it licensed.
Also is training required to get it licensed?

Yes, I was lame. What I mean the Excel Web engineering and it can with Care Web / Bacnet, not with Care XL 5000. My problem is solved... Thank you all.

Dear kilcsir, I've problems to understand your question. In Care 8 you click on Plant then there opens a table offering "Schematic", "Control Strategy" and "Switching Logic". That's all you need to create a complete plant.

Could it be a missing license option, I had similar experience with Honeywell Comfort Point Studio, control loop was missing till we got the Project Manager license.

At university the Care 8 is registered, but I can't see Control Loop icon under the Plant. At Control Strategy I can create Control Loop, but in Care I don't working with that. I know the unregistered version is limited, for example Device Library.

@stability: can you give me a link, where I can download it?

If you are using a uxga screen then some things in care dont show right. I have this problem and sometimes I have to force a lower screen resolution on my dell laptop. I use a latitude E5580 if its any use.

I have no other explanation why you are missing the PID icon. But do you have the XFM icon? Then you could use the EPID xfm which has more features anyhow.

Even with an unregistered version of Care 8.3 it is possible to establish a complete controller - beside the Open LON and online features. You can establish plants with a complete hardware description. The more it is possible to create a regulation strategy and logical tables.

I don't think yo can do anything useful with CARE till you get it registered with the USB key.
