Open the case and check to see if the PC board is covered in a oil mist. Clean board with a spray cleaner while the battery is out. let it dry and then re-test. These leak detectors are bullet proof and the problems are usually minor. Also check filter in the end of the wand.
I have both the inficon and the h-10, the h-10 is better but you have to lug extension cords around with you and whenever you just barely get it wet it goes crazy. The infinicon is alot more portable and water resistant. I had the problem with the sensor too, replaced it, and it works like a champ. sometimes it comes loose though so you just have to push it back down and it works great.

Was it worth all the trouble? I am not sure if they are still on sale at Johnstones for under 125.00, new, however, some things are worth saving for, and my tools for this line of work are on high on that list, for me anyway. yeah howd you do that? that could be a very valuable tool for me when my friends ask me whats wrong with (what ever house hold item)
not really worth sending in for repair, just wanted something half way effective that i could use for a season while i save for a good one. also wanted something i could toss at a coworker to check their installs and not feel bad if it comes back broken
Bossman's tek mate did the same thing, we swapped sensors, no change. His was replaced under warranty. Johnstone has the tek mate on sale this month. Don't know if it would be worth sending yours in for repair.

buy an H-10 off ebay for about $100 or less they've been making em for 20+ years, same super rugged design. so odds are in your favor a used H-10 is going to work. H-10 will out perform infincon
Change the sensor
