Watch out Had two home warranty co's go bankrupt on us. Thank god they didn't owe us much. Would not allow them to run large tab. Would not go to next call until 'late bills' had been paid. New other contractor, had over $8000.00 owed to him when the co went.

which by the way they think should only be $10 an hour and that would be the going rate for an unemployed "handyman" How many Pesos would ya get for $10.00
they get their bad rap from the way they do business. they are constantly trying to get you to lower your prices, they have more loopholes than a box of froot loops when it comes to getting out of covering a problem. their reps are rude and uncaring, sometimes just down right nasty. now they are wanting to furnish you the part so they only have to pay labor, which by the way they think should only be $10 an hour. the only way to make money on them is to be flat rate and refuse to break that rate down for them. they will scream and fuss, but they will pay it.
Was wondering... Do Home warranty contractors get a set amount for the # of homes that they are contracted to cover, say X amount of dollars to be responsible for 500 homes in an area, then they don't get paid extra for any work they do on that home? Is it sort of like HMO insurance for houses? Or do they actually get paid decent rates to fix things? Why else would home warranty repairs have such a bad rap? just curious...
