Max info frames can be brought up, that will help prevent the card from locking up. What is the Instance and station address of your FX?
You could lower the Max Masters. It can be 1 higher than the device ID. I think optimally if you could since this is the only device on the trunk you should set the device ID to 1. Not sure about the info frames.
Should the max masters be lowered and the info frames be brought up since this is the only device on the mstp trunk?
The controller info is Device Instance-0077000 Baudrate-38400 MSTP Add-011 Max Masters-127 Max Info Frames- 020
Per Carel's website for the pCO-Net card (BACnet MSTP card), the card is optoisolated from the controller. Therefore, the ground is not shared between the controller and card. What are the other parameters of the MSTP card? (Instance, MAC address, Max Info Frames, Max Master) If the Max Info Frames are too low, this could cause the card to freeze up.
Do not hook up the third wire/ref wire It is grounded in the Carel controller... One item I have also heard is that the device instance last numbers should match the mac address, but still havent comprehended why it worked that way but it did fix an issue we had...
check your comm parameters in the carel unit, max master, max info frame, etc.

I'm using 22 AWG 3-wire twisted, shielded cable and the baud rate is set for 38,400. What's the recommended eol resistor size 250ohms?
400 ft one device I see no need for a repeater. EOL resistor yes. What baud rate? Did you use correct wire?
Carel Controls - JCI FX-60 MSTP issue. I have a Inovent RTU with carel controls and I'm attempting to bring the RTU onto a fx-60 via mstp. I'm able to discover the RTU and bring it into the FX but I'm having communication issues and the RTU is bouncing on and offline. The RTU is the only device on the mstp trunk and there's about 400 ft of wire between the RTU and the FX. Should I install a eol resistor at the RTU? Or may a repeater be needed?
