I thought oxy and nitro threads were different ie.. 1 left thread and 1 right, so they didn't get mixed or crossed up in hospital use!
Check data plate for test pressures. It will have low and high side pressures. Don't go any higher than the low side pressure.

I would be very careful about crossing them, though, because oxygen can be nasty stuff. If even a tiny amount of oil is present, you could see an explosion.

Use pure/dry nitrogen. You don't want to be adding oil to a refrigeration system when you flow or pressure test with nitrogen.

This is not a do it your self site but I will give basic safety information. The main precaution is use a pressure regulator that is in good shape, has a clean over pressure release valve and check hoses for cuts or tears and max working pressure! Max pressure depends on system and equipment, read labels. Wear safety glasses. Use pure nitrogen only. Bad gas and oil can contaminate the system. Unless they meant to add a little refrigerant so an electronic leak finder can also be used.
purging and pressuring ac with n2 hi every one i want to use n2 in purging and testing ac for leaks and first time to me my q are 1_ what precautions i must make in care when use n2 in purging etc.... 2_ which type of n2 i must use because in iraq we have pure n2 only but some experts adviced me to use impure n2 cylinder which contain 90% n2 and 10% oil because its best than pure n2 in purging and testing
