A building that I'm real familiar with builds 800,000# of ice nightly. They need chw 24/7. A full load can handle the data centers for 2-3 days in cold/cool weather.. When there is sustained hi oa temps, they can burn it all by 1pm, in addition to (2) 700T chillers precooling the secondary chw, in addition to (3) 500 hp screws pushing refrigerant around. We start to lose the building at 5ish in the afternoon. Start to replenish the ice at 6pm, build till 5am. A real noisy place.

I don't have enough experience with ice storage systems to really say if that's a common problem or not. I'm sure if they're designed with realistic expectations and not undersized, they probably work alright.

I have only seen ice storage attempted to be used in one application in my travels so far. They have long abandoned it, prior to my arriving on the account. But what I have come to know was the ice storage was not able to keep up. The oce would be used long before peak demand was over for the day.

Let me ask you. Is that a common problem with these set ups or no?

Some pictures I've taken in my travels at the new job. Sorry for the poor quality, they were taken with a camera phone and Verizon holds the high-res copies hostage. I don't do any really heavy work yet - mostly just air-cooled stuff, but I get to help out the senior guys once in a while.

i would deff go with the milwaukee, but get the older model, the one i have. The new one imo is not as loud and doesnt sound as good. The one i have has the rockford fosgate speakers, it rocks, its the V28 model. I bought the dewalt cause i had a dewalt phase i went through and only lasted about two months, sold it all for a profit lol. I also had the bosch, and wasnt no where close to bein as loud as i wanted it to be, plus was bulky, and i have the rigid one too, nice radio, but doesnt compare to the milwaukee, none of them do lol.

I was thinking back a few years ago when I started in this trade when looking over the edge of a single story flat roofed building used to be a little scary to me and here I was squinting to try to see the little colorful specs moving around on the streets 1450' below my feet.

Has anyone here actually been on top of the Sears Tower, or World Trade Center, or Empire State bldg, or anything like it (not just an observation deck, but actually on the roof)? I would love to have that kind of experiance.
Been to the top of the Hancock Building, abouts 99 stories or so. been on the top of many 40-50 story buildings.
As far as standing on those buit-out platforms- I don't think so! Glass made in china, fasteners made in china, framing made in china.........

This is my view for the last few days. Uber high moisture in the oil, so I got to do the Jiffy Lube express on this bad boy.
