Another useless comment from the peanut gallery.
another insignificant tool added to the zombies tools list. 1-digicools 2-bluvac 3-veto 4-ddsm 5-?????
What Else can it be used for? I understand the whole preasure switch thing. How does it check an inducer motor etc?
It's actually less expensive now. I spent $264.00 for mine last year. It does work really well, especially for universal replacement pressure switches.
Its a great tool the pressure switch is is question. I just used mine today. First time this year. It helped me track the problem to a poor vent issue. Found it, fixed it and moved on.
I wonder if it was cheaper before Fieldpiece got thier hands on it? Looks like a neat tool would love to hear your freed back on it
I just ordered the ddsm1 from shop.rdholder.com. Hopefully it works as good as it sounds!
Also if you have any questions I can relay them to Rich and get back to you. I'm not allowed to give his email out on this post but if you PM i will gladly give it to you. Rich welcomes any questions anyone has concerning the Draftrite or Fieldpiece in general.
Rich was just at our RSES meeting this past week. He gave a good presentation. It's a neat tool. I asked him if he comes here, and he said he does, on occasion. I told him that my avatar has the two airplanes, and they will be back in November.
Meet Rich the New Fieldpiece Trainer and Draftrite inventor http://youtu.be/z3D8-dFugqQ
A quote from their Facebook page on the subject: " We bought the licensing rights for the technology, and the Draft Simulator creator is now working with us as a trainer!!"
Did Fieldpiece with their new DDSM1 copy the DraftRite, purchase them out, or just buy the rights to re-label it as the Draft Simulator and kicking back royalties to DraftRite or Good Day Tools, whatever they are now?
Just curious, Christopher, how do you like the draftrite now that you've had it for a while?
good job. keep up the good work!

I have seen several the the scenarios we talked about in class. I really like it, b/c I used to adjust the universal pressure switches according to the calculation of number of turns, which not surprisingly is pretty inaccurate according to my new toy/tool. But lately, I havent been working on too many gas furnaces, lots of horrendous oil burners lately. Today I filled a 5 gallon bucket with soot from one of these disasters.

Sorry guys this is the tool i was referring to.. http://draftrite.com/ I use in in conjunction with my UEI manometer. I used to have one of those crappy draft gauges, then I started using a digital, which was too hard to read, then I used a magnehelic, and now I Dywer 460.
