These hoses are ok for runs under 50 feet. 25 preferable. The problem is when you loose pressure as the run gets longer the hose diameter starts to shrink and you loose flow. Even at 50 feet with a wide open nozzle the flow will decrease by about half.

My wife bought a 25 footer for the backyard to water plants, she loved it but it was too short to reach some plants, so she bought another. When the hose is pressurized and expanded, the flow is pretty good. But in about 30 seconds the flow is cut to a trickle.

If the water supply doesn't have good pressure you can only squeeze your hose nozzle in just a little or it does shrink up.
I agree, the convenience is the most important item. That being said, I've had 3 or 4 fail...under warranty each time. Plan on getting the XPro when the next one fails.

I bought 2 pocket hoses last year in the spring. One lasted less than a month because of cactus and the second one lasted until last week. I bought the new and improved pocket hose and it seems to be a bit more durable. I still have 100 feet of goodyear rubber hose for industrial use but the pocket hose lasting just one season is worth every penny for the residential service IMO

Just get the customer to supply the hose....... and if they dont have enough.... write on your ticket that couldnt clean the condenser because the customer doesnt care enough about his hvac equipment to have a hose ready for you and water available when you need it......

I missed this thread till now. While I don't use mine a ton, maybe 7 times in a week, I have had the cheap ones from walgreens for about a year now, and just added another one, and so far neither have burst or tore. I probably just jinxed myself, I know. But, for the money and convenience, I think they are great. If it does pop, then so be it. It's cheap and a couple of them fit in a tiny nook in my truck.
I think I've only had them restrict pressure so much that I couldn't do what I needed to with it in a timely manor a couple times out of a hundred.
Maybe the cheap as seen on TV one is more durable than the X hose? I'll admit, I can tell it's thin, so I'm REAL careful to not drag it over thorn bushes or anything like that.

These are the ones I have...

on my 3rd also, if there is not enough pressure they are very annoying. Usually end up grabbing a regular hose . But sometimes when the building has enough pressure it wore great. But that being said I'm on the third one? Will be the last for me.

I've gone thru 3 of these stupid hoses just this season. All three have split the inner hose somewhere in the middle. The warranty has covered each of them, so it's not that bad, I love the convenience of storing them in a tool bag.

I came across this old thread and have something to add: I just bought two of the the 50' XHose Pro and the water pressure decrease was disappointing. But they sure are handy and compact; I'd say the water pressure/flow is about half of what my typical 3/4" hose allows. There's always a trade off.......

As for the durability, I think it greatly depends on line pressure and how long you leave it pressurized.

I've had a hose rupture on me when I left a nozzle attached and turned off, but water on overnight.

If you tend to leave it pressurized with nozzle off and the water pressure is 100 psi, it probably won't last long.

What about one of those flat cross section hoses that winds up like a tape measure? I've seen those some
    where.

Maybe in canada ay......lots of heat left here and unlike alot of "pros", we wash every condenser ay. It will get more use before cold weather hits than your hose probably gets all year ay..

I am going to keep an eye out for one in a store. I hate buying things I have not touched or at least looked at first. We have a store out here called "Not sold in stores" that has tons of that stuff. I'm sure Harbor Freight will have a chinese knock-off of the chinese hose as well.

Update. The hose works much better than my new x-ray glasses(thanks for the hookup cool w . Its actually freaking awesome. I grinned like a fool during the entire PM while using it. With my favorite nozzle on full spray the hose does not contract. It does not kink. Rolled up it takes up as about as much space as a ball cap(it will roll up in a circumference comparable to a ball cap). Light as a feather. My only concern so far is longevity. It doesnt seem sturdy like my heavy duty hoses because it probably isnt and the ultra light weight makes it feel cheap. Time will tell on that part. Even if it is inferior to the life of a heavy duty hose, so far the pros far outweigh the cons. Im not easy to impress but this thing is cool. If it lasts the rest of the summer im ordering more.

As far as the poor review posted earlier...Ive found as many good reviews as I have bad.
