As per B149.1, a vent shall not terminate within 12" of a door or window for appliances with inputs from 10,000-100,000 btuh, so yes you are correct at 12"

Thanks HVAC the manufacturer states 12" and yes it is Canada. I was just trying to get an idea if the space I was thinking about would work. I'll be sure to consult a dealer and installer before making a decision

Ok fair enough, if I am breaking the rules I am sure I will be told. Hopefully a G2 will chime in here to either correct or confirm. I assume this Ontario Canada correct? If so its 12" to the opening side of any door or window. Providing the manufacturers spec don't show otherwise.

Don't plan on installing myself just trying to determine if its feasible in space I plan to have it installed. Haven't found a vendor or technician yet. Thanks

Gas fireplace min Vent distance to window/door

I'm considering purchasing a Peninsula direct vent gas fireplace to install in my new home. Planning on venting it horizontally through the back of the house but it would be close to both a window and sliding door. Any idea what the code is for direct vent clearance to a window or door. The specific until I'm looking at is 39,000 BTU and would be installed in Ontario.

Thanks for any help, let me know if I've missed any other details.
